7.1.1 - GUI stops displaying results when query is too large

Howdy -- I've been working on an XQuery function library in the GUI editor (which is great!), and putting actual queries in the bottom. This library has been growing in size (currently about 16K), and therein lies the problem: When the size of the submitted query gets too large, GUI functionality stops working: Results stop being highlighted in the tree or displayed in the "text" window (which instead always displays the entire document). I can run the exact same XQuery file through basexclient or a REST query and everything works perfectly, so this appears to be strictly a GUI concern. If I move enough text to the clipboard, or comment out part of the buffer, everything works perfectly again.

Marking up util:time output

Howdy -- If I'm running a query which includes a number of util:time calls against different data, how can I know which one is doing what given that execution order is undefined? Is there another function I can use to emit an arbitrary value to the "info view"? If not, an optional parameter providing a string to tag profiling times with would be convenient. Thanks!

Why does OPTIMIZE ALL require an open database?

If OPTIMIZE ALL iterates over all available databases, why does it fail if there isn't one open when invoked? Or am I misunderstanding what it does?

org.basex.server.ClientSession versus Java client BaseXClient.java

Hello A question. The class code org.basex.server.ClientSession coincides roughly with the class code BaseXClient.java provided as an example of Java client in https://github.com/BaseXdb/basex-api/tree/master/src/main/java? I think it must be so, but I want to assure. If the answer is yes, the classorg.basex.server.ClientSession is as efficient as using the BaseXClient.java, right? Regards, Isidre Guixà

The code is basically equivalent, but the files in the API package don't have any BaseX class dependencies. The performance should be pretty much the same, too. Hope this helps, Christian

eclipse integration

Hi, I am getting this error while trying to run xquery inside Eclipse. I followed all the steps mentioned in BaseX-Eclipse integration documentation. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:217) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:205) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:321) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:294) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:266) Could not find the main class: . Program will exit. I could understand that this is a classpath error but i am unable to rectify it on my own. could any one help me to overcome this issue. Thanks, Nivas
