java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

Hello, I just installed basex 7.2.1 for the first time. Then I would like to start the server so I can use a command line client to query it. But I got this error: $ java -cp BaseX.jar org.basex.BaseXServer Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/basex/BaseXServer Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.basex.BaseXServer at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:202) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247) I'm on OSX 10.7.4 BaseX is installed in /Applications/BaseX.app Thanks.

Fpml + Basex

Folks, We are developing a financial system, it will deal mainly with xml(Fpml) files, so I think the best thing to do is using a xml db, we are evaluating some db, including Berkeley, MarkLogic, Sedna and of course Basex, Berkeley is open source but we can't use, you need to pay for that, MarkLogic is expensive, Sedna I don't know much and Basex looks great. My questions are: 1 - MarkLogic says support pentabytes of data, Berkeley says support up to 256TB, and Basex supports up to? 2 - How stable Basex is? 3 - Is it safe for financial institutions? Feel free to give me more information you believe is important. -- Henrique Oliveira

How does one insert an arbitrary file. doc('q') parses it. How does one just, you know, #include q as in C?

Change default XML encoding

Hello, I am using BaseX to scan XML files, and most files are using implicitely the ISO-8859-15 encoding. Unfortunately, it seems that the internal XML parser is using by default UTF-8 encoding. This doesn't seem to be specified in the configuration files, or GUI properties. Is there a way to force the internal parser to use another encoding? Many thanks, Guillaume

How do I prevent BaseX from insisting on adding these attributes? <a shape="rect" <br clear="none"> What more do I need to tell it? declare option db:parser "html"; declare option db:htmlopt "method=html,nons=true"; declare option output:method "html"; declare option output:version "4.01"; declare option output:doctype-public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"; declare option output:doctype-system "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"; declare option output:include-content-type "yes"; Doesn't it know that those are invalid attributes in 4.01, and although I appreciate BaseX's effort in making my life more wonderful, perhaps there is a way to get it to discourage itself from all attributes adding assistance maybe?

Method to transform XQuery output to HTML!!
