GUI feature request "Add as import"

Hi, I often find myself adding module imports in the GUI and I wonder if the following suggestion might speed up that process. Add a new menu item to the filelist right click context menu "Add as import" when the file selection is a XQuery module. The action would be to add a line to the current edit window source with import module namespace {$prefix} = '{$namespace}' at {$path}; Where $prefix and $namespace} are read from the source of the selected file, and $path is calculated from the relative path from the edit file source to the selected filelist source. The line would be inserted at a suitable place in the prologue or at the current location if that is too tricky. /Andy

Position of matched tokens in a full-text query

Hi, Sorry if this is too basic, but I’m trying to get the positions of the matched tokens in a full-text query, and I can’t find the way to do it. I imagine something like: for $sentence in //sentence where $sentence[text() contains text { ‘DNA', ‘oxidation' }] return <positions>ft:SOME-FUNCTION-FOR-TOKENS-POSITIONS($sentence[text() contains text { ‘DNA', ‘oxidation' }])</positions> Is this possible? BaseX 8 and oXygen via XQJ

After upgrading to BaseX 8.0 I'm no longer able to run queries on BaseX from oXygen. Connecting to BaseX from oXygen using WebDav still works, but trying to run a transformation in BaseX using the XQJ driver fails with a message "Access denied". It appears that the XQJ driver needs to be updated for the new authentication mechanism. Will an updated version of the BaseX XQJ driver be available soon? Thank you, Vincent

data protection at rest

Hello, I am thinking about my options of protecting BaseXDB's data at rest. We are storing sensitive client data which we need to protect. We would be migrating BaseXDB on an amazon instance, so protection at rest would be a primary concern. What I wish to do is, while inserting data into the database, it should be encrypted and while using XQUERY, we should have a mechanism to decrypt the data and retrieve the information needed. I am aware of the performance hit here. Would evaluate if its acceptable after I could collect some statistics. I looked at the docs: http://docs.basex.org/wiki/Cryptographic_Module#Encryption_.26_Decryption But, I didn't completely understand a use case for this example. Or if it would solve my purpose. I am currently using some Java code to insert files into the database. Has anyone done something on this line ? Please share some use cases. - Mansi

BaseX 8.0 snapshot on OpenShift

Hi, I am having difficulty getting this to work. I had something working with 7.9 (see https://github.com/Quodatum/openshift-basex-quick-start/tree/releases/0.2 ) Using a recent snapshot. Xquery update question

Hi, I have several xml document index keeping products features and have one master index file of products.. Currently, we have about 25 million products that have size about 25G xquery index size. My xquery application is reading features data from auxiliary xml document and enhancing master document. In order to do it, I am inserting data into master document with a generic insert command: insert node <FEATURES_NODE> into <PRODUCT_NODE> But xquery update is executing update process after all insert requests collected. But with huge size of my index, the memory of machine (35G) is exhausted easily and can NOT finish process. Is there way to execute individual xquery update requests one by one so that process can finish? Erol Akarsu

Fetching a binary document from BaseX with C# using the server API

Hello, I'm currently working on the integration of BaseX in part of our .Net based software. One part of the functionality will be to store and retrieve binary files. I haven't been able to retrieve the raw files from the server yet using C#. I based my solution on the example of the C# client in the source code repository of BaseX. With my current solution I receive only the first few (3 to 7) bytes of the file (at least I think they are...). The code I have at the moment is: /// <summary> /// Retrieves a RAW document from the database. Out Of Memory

Hello, I have a use case, where I have to extract lots in information from each XML in each DB. Something like, attribute values of most of the nodes in an XML. For such, queries based goes Out Of Memory with below exception. I am giving it ~12GB of RAM on i7 processor.
