RESTXQ : returning application/zip data

Dear all, I 'm trying to return a zip from a restxq request with a (simplified) function like : declare %restxq:path("cnfull/aozip/{$doc-number}/{$kind}") %restxq:GET %output:media-type("application/zip") function questel:zipped-ao-request-by-doc-number-kind($doc-number as xs:string, $kind as xs:string) { archive:create( element archive:entry { 'blabla.xml' }, fn:serialize(<xml-here/>)) }; But the result is an invalid zip archive... bug/ strange behaviour in package-installation in BasexGUI

Hi, I encountered some strange behavior/bug when installing a package (Xquery module) from within the BaseXGUI InstructionPath: - BaseXGUI -> BaseXGui.Toolbar: Options -> Packages -> BaseXGui.PackageWindow:install When installing package (XqueryModule): test.xqm then the already installed package: testSet.xqm will be deleted from the installedPackageSet. Package: testSet.xqm has to be reïnstalled. I dont think this is wanted behavior. My guess is that it has something to do with versionstripping from the file name. Can you have a look at it? Xquery with basex Cdata

Hi, I try to extract the Cdata by the follow query: for $x in doc('input.xml')//App//package//text() return $x On the follow xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <App name="BasexTest_1"> <package name="main/resources/xml"> <![CDATA[ -- dd --]]>  <file name="input.xml"></file> </package>  <package name="org/basex/examples/local"> <file name="RunCommands.java"></file>   <folder>lib</folder></package> </App> and it is not return the cdata ,why ? Performance Degraded In function-lookup

Hi, I execute the follow query for $x in doc('input.xml')//App//package//comment() return $x on the follow XML file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <App name="BasexTest_1"> <package name="main/resources/xml">   <file name="input.xml"></file> </package>  <package name="org/basex/examples/local"> <file name="RunCommands.java"></file>   <folder>lib</folder></package> </App> And I expect to get the comment but the resault is empty , why ? Query plan via REST interface?

Hi, is it possible to obtain the query plan via the BaseX REST interface? I tried: curl -i -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/xml" -d "<query xmlns=' http://basex.org/rest'><text>some_query_here</text><option name='xmlplan' value='true'/></query>" "http://xyz" but this only returns the query results, not the plan. Using Client/Server? How-to

Hi, I am using BaseX to store certains documents. Till now as the DB was small, I alone was able to handle it ie.; check, modify etc etc. operations. Now the documents are in tons and I have kept 2 guys to work on the same, with proper training, I need to have a client-server setup. I have gone through the Database Server wiki. Being new to this kind of environment, I have few questions, might be quite basic, but strange to me :) As far as I know and have understood what I will have to do is - 1. I will have to keep the DB on a server with proper networking so that the clients can access the DB. 2. I will have to change the DB path on clients (in Preferences) and it would be the Server's path. 3. Instead of running the stand-alone, I will have to start Server and on clients, the BaseX Client. So far, I haven't tried this, as any mistake on my part or of employees' might damage the DB. I need a proper guidance to start with it. Regs Pratik

fn:doc-available()

Dear BaseX team, I am puzzled by the behaviour of fn:doc-available when applied to a zip file: doc-available('/user/xsd/niem-2.1.zip') yields this error: [BXDB0006] Database path '/user/xsd/niem-2.1.zip' yields no documents. Kind regards, Hans-Juergen

function parse-xml() very slow in embedded mode

Hi I'm using BaseX in embedded mode (no database) and need to transform an xml payload that contains elements containing string-encoded xml in this form ... <str><objectInstance fetchDate="2014-02-14T13:00:53.374+01:00"> <createdDateTime>2012-12-04T08:55:26.195Z</createdDateTime> </objectInstance></str> ... I have both tried using xquery update (copy, modify) and with a simple identity-transform function that intercepts the <str/> element and replaces it with the results of parse-xml(.) When executing the query in BasexGUI both solutions performs very well. However if i invoke it via the QueryProcessor in my java-process it is 50 to 100 times slower. Any clues to what i might be missing? Regards, Johan Mörén
