Detect if the database is open

Using ClientSession from java, I do this to check if the database is open: try { replace(somewhere, new ArrayInput(bytes)); } catch (IOException e) { String msg = e.getMessage(); if (msg == null || !msg.contains(“No database opened”)) throw e; execute(new Check(databaseName)); replace(somewhere, new ArrayInput(bytes)); } Is there a better way to detect if the database is open than testing the exception message text? CACHERESTXQ always false with basexhttp

Hi, I'm trying to activate CACHERESTXQ option while launching from "basexhttp". If I start only "basexserver", CACHERESTXQ value is successfully read it from my .basex configuration file and applied. From the client, "get CACHERESTXQ" return true. If launched from "basexhttp" (see logs below), it read the good value while launching basexhttp. It then start itself the server part. And what's strange, is that the debug show again CACHERESTXQ variable but this time setted to false. Am I doing something wrong? Should this option be set in another way? jetty.xml? question about http server

Hi,i have setted my pc as server over TinyWebi have everything ok.i opened in my pc 8984 port.if i execute my php file containing xquery query locally, it works butif i execute it remotely over the ip and port, it show me this message:can't communicate with server. Anyone have an idea about that? Thanks

Geo Module Help

I have some XML files with geographical data. I can see they are using "http://www.opengis.net/gml/3.2" for the gml namespace. If I try to run some geo functions I get the error: [experr:GEO0001] Unrecognized Geo type: Point If I change the gml namespace to "http://www.opengis.net/gml" it runs fine. I don't know if it has to be fixed on the data level or it is something that BaseX needs to take care of. It's my first time I have to deal with XML geo data, so I'm clueless at the moment. Any thoughts? Thanks

Extracting namespace from xml

Hello, When using basexgui, after opening a database and go to properties and then information one can see all the namespaces in the document. When not using the gui how does one extract the same information? Been reading the wiki but I have not been able to find a module or a function that accomplish exactly that. Also Im trying to use the information from index:facets("db") to create a simple visual interface so users, without xquery knowledge, can click on nodes and add filters and those choices are then translated into xquery commands. REPO INSTALL fails without error

Long time to execute XQuery

I have a database where a couple of clients perform querys with a fairly rapid response, however sometimes the querys take EXTREMLY long time to execute, and I wonder why. Do you have any pointers for me on where to look, what to do? In this excercept from the log you'll see that the first query in the log was executed with a normal response time, however, when the same query is made later (at about 00.28.03 by Mediacollection) it times out. At around 00.28.03 there is also another query made by another machine(VentuzTV4A), and its response time ends up just below 10s. To me it seems the queryprocessor is not queuing up the querys in a good fashion, or do any of you have another view of the problem? BaseX GUI doesn't show combining glyphs properly

Hello I don't know if the problem is local on my computer or in BaseX's GUI code. It doesn't show Unicode Combining glyphs correctly in the Results window. The combining characters are somehow strangely spaced away together with their base character. If I copy and paste the text from the window, it is correctly formatted. In the attached picture the 12th row should show "iguumeń/ńa:" instead. Best regards Kristian K

Geo Module Help

Sorry for the second email, I'm not familiar with BaseX, but it looks like the gml namespace is hardcoded in /basex-api/src/main/java/org/expath/ns/Geo.java I don't know if it is intentional for compatibility reasons or not.
