JBoss 6.4 and BaseX 8.4

We just upgraded from 7.8 to 8.5. We are using BaseX in a JBoss multi-threaded application. Something has changed with ClientSession. I can't seem to validate content (It says the .xsd file does not exist). Changes to wildcards in 8.5.2?

Hi, This query works with 8.5.1 when the value of $wild-words is *.*, but not in 8.5.2. discard-document equivalent

Hi again, I wonder if there is an equivalent command to discard-document which is available in Saxon PE? I have a list of XML documents available in a remote repository, and I make the same checks in every XML in a for loop. Example: let $list := ("http://url1", "http://url2", "http://url3", "http://url4") for $file in $list return local:runChecks(doc($file)) If the documents are large, they will keep filling the memory. I just run a script that uses 42 files about 50mb each, and that consumed over 2GB of memory. The checks are quite complex so I don't think that the fetch module would work here, if my understanding is correct about what it does. Behaviour of db:open('mydb') update {} in updating functions

Hi, I just noticed that when I use a db that is opened this way, I cannot do updates anymore. Example: declare variable $_:PUB := db:open('PUB') update {}; Then, inside updating function: let $sec := $_:PUB//Section[@Guid = $id] return replace node trace($sec) with <Section>changed</Section> There is no error whatsoever, the update simply doesnt happen. (BaseX 8.4.4) Bug? Regards, Max

Schema validation

Hi, I wonder what is the status of schema validation in BaseX? I have a Java web service that is used to validate some schemas, which is using xerces2 to validate XML files. I want to transfer some of this work to my XQuery scripts in BaseX, so I can minimize the bandwidth on large files (the XML files are being retrieved from a remote repository). I did try to put xercesImpl.java on the lib directory, the validation does run, but I'm not sure about these two things 1) Is the new version of xerces being used, or is the Java default one being used? Maybe it's possible to add a function to return the library being used? 2) My Java service (which is using xerces2) is running the validation in about 5 seconds, the same validation takes 32 seconds in BaseX 8.5.1 Any ideas, tips etc are welcome Thanks, George.

declare option db:chop 'no' not supported in 8.5.1 for .xqm files

Hi, I'm trying to migrate a project from 8.2.2 to 8.5.1. I'm this getting errors on all "declare option db:chop 'no';": [bxerr:BASX0010] Database option not allowed in library module: chop. Does it mean that I no longer need these to keep my spaces intact or is it a bug? I didn't find anything in the doc that mention this option being removed. I'm still finding the option in the doc with 'false' instead of 'no' at http://docs.basex.org/wiki/XQuery_Extensions, and with 'no' at: http://docs.basex.org/wiki/XSLT_Module. Maximum number of hits

I have changed Maximum number of hits to All, but still, BaseX result gets chopped some times. Is this a bug or an intended behaviour? My only problem is that I run XQuery scripts that need 200+ seconds to finish, so whenever this happens when I click save, they will have to run again in the background. I know there is an alternative way to run them, (for example using file:write) but I can't really use it at the moment. My result is just 1 large <div> element, and the output method is HTML. Creating database on command line from C#

Hi guys, I have an issue which I hope someone can help. I'm working on trying to use BaseX on the command line to create a database. Below is an extract of the commands I've put into a batch file: @ECHO SET CREATEFILTER *.xml> basex_auto_temp.txt @ECHO CREATE DATABASE %db_name% %dest%>> basex_auto_temp.txt "C:\Program Files (x86)\BaseX\bin\basex.bat" -c"C:\Temp\basex_auto_temp.txt" I have no issues executing the batch file in a Windows Command Prompt and it created the database I expected correctly. However, when I tried to execute the batch file from a C# Windows Forms application, for some reason, the database creation failed. It just didn't create the database. I just can't figure out why and what's the problem. I would really appreciate the help.
