Mistake in the docs?

Hi Christian, maybe there's a mistake in the docs on the db:create function. * db:create("DB", file:list('.'), map { 'ftindex': true() }) adds all files of the current working directory to a new database and creates a full-text index. I think an empty sequence is required as third parameter to fill the gap for paths parameter. Isn't it? If you agree I can fix it. Regards, Marco.

JSON xml format

Hello all, I'd like to know whether there is a formal specification (XSD, RelaxNG) of the format for expressing JSON in XML introduced with XQuery 1.0. The one used by xml-to-json to be clear. Thanks, Marco.

Potential Bug - message from fulltext

When trying to to a full text index on a collection of texts, the process runs for a couple of hours with the exit message below - I think it is near completed. From the GUI, I have at least seen the progress bar get to around 80 %, so I think it is safe to assume that the error is connectedt the final stages. The texts are unstructured and represented as one line pr. book. Here is the result from the index process. Parameters set in GUI are: Norwegian Snowball, lemmatization, diacritics. There is set aside 30GB for the GUI. Path summary: doc(): 317259x, strings text: 317259x, leaf text(): 317259x, strings, leaf Here is the error message: Improper use? Potential bug? Having tried a few hours on this I submit it as a question : When I have any non-trivial amount of output it is always 'chopped', which might mean several things but at least it means that my results are just cut off at a random point. How do I get the full results so I can save them ? Thanks, Bob Berger

Hi Lars, I think a had a similar problem which appears to be related to the GUI. There are two thing you could do: 1) Increase VM memory 2) Start the server and try building the index using the client The second helped in my case (memory of server: 1GB). Hope this helps. db:add OPTIONS

Hello, I've followed the documentation of db:add which states: Allowed options are allparsing <http://docs.basex.org/wiki/Options#Parsing>andXML parsing <http://docs.basex.org/wiki/Options#XML_Parsing>options. using OPTIONS as /map { 'STRIPNS': true() }/ However, I get an error that STRIPNS is unknown database option. Using .xqm in multiple BaseX instances

Hi, I'm creating multiple projects that rely on the same base. Each project is set a a separate BaseX installation because each needs its own DBs and its own code. However, some of the .xqm are relevant to many projects. I've tried creating symlinks to the reusable components, but all I get is a message telling me that #0 is an unacceptable character in my symlink file. I've been referencing it as: import module namespace name = "uri" at "symlink.xqm"; I am not surprised that this doesn't work, but I had to try it. I'm still hoping that there is a way to reuse code without creating multiple instances of each .xqm. 'indent' option for json:serialize()

Hi, In the json:serialize() function, the 'indent' option does not seem to be accepted. Is it an outdated option? For example, the following returns "Unknown option 'indent'." in BaseX 8.2.1. json:serialize( json:parse('[{"a":"b"}]'), map {'indent':'no'} ) The 'indent' option doesn't work for json:parse() either, though the doc does not suggest it should.
