[ANN] Higher-Order XQuery Modules

Hello everyone, I want to announce the small collection of XQuery 3.0 modules [1] that I've written over the last few weeks. I use them mostly for testing the BaseX optimizer, but there should be no BaseX-specific XQuery code in the repository. I have implemented some purely functional data structures including maps based on AVL and Red-Black Trees that both support arbitrary values as keys and efficient deletion. Some documentation can be found under each module's namespace URI or under [2]. Constructive feedback of any kind (suggestions, bug reports, pull requests) would be much appreciated. INLINER : bug ?

Hi Everybody @Leo, there might be a bug in the BaseX INLINER (I am currently profiling your module https://github.com/LeoWoerteler/xq-modules/). To reproduce it : - use the 3 files attached. - Edit baseX config file .baseX, set the following Local options : # Local Options INLINELIMIT = 5 - launch the XQUERY file MapProfiler.xquery. With these settings, the profile function works finely. Then - Edit baseX config file .baseX, set the following Local options : # Local Options INLINELIMIT = 6 With these settings, I am raising a [XPTY0004] Single item expected error. Cheers, Jean-Marc

what's bad basex ? slow insert doc after continuesly add/insert, lost db access..

Hi,all, after continuesly insert/add doc to basex db up to 80000 file with restxq web service, there are some nonsens result: very slow for insert/add doc to db. some time can't list db in basex cmd line. after restart ,it's ok. and this will cause the xquery can't work like collection('db/path')//.., say something like: can't found resource ..../webapp/db . who can give some reason or what 's wrong with me? Fwd: 7.7.x UI freeze

Hi Pascal, databases created with 7.8 cannot be opened by older versions of BaseX (the last change came with the upgrade from 7.7.3 to 7.8). I can't guarantee you that 7.7.2/7.7.3/7.8 are fully backward-compatible, but down to version 7.6 this should be the case. Regarding the GUI freezes[1]: I never use the .jar file, yet I experience the freeze from time to time (I always start with -Xmx512). Using -Xmx32m on purpose still doesn't reproduce the issue. In fact, I wasn't able to reproduce it at all during the last days ... we'll keep an eye on that. hi,all , anyone have some experience on continueously add files to db with restxq web service interface.? I have a restxq service to add post xml data to db, in db/path1/path2/{pid}.xml. at begining, its very fast, after to 90000, slowly ,bout 2 files per second . how to increase the speed? autoindex is off. -- 此致 easy 莫愁前路无知己，天下谁人不识君。

Migrating from 7.3 to 7.7.2

Hello, I would like to migrate my current code from BaseX 7.3 to the latest version, but when I compile with the new library I get errors at Context.pin(...) and Context.unpin(...). I have some difficulties in finding out how to change the "pin" management. If you don't mind, I'd post two of my class's methods and I would ask you to give me some instructions how to update them. Hello, The following query map:size(map:new(({<dummy>dummy</dummy>:""},{<doudou>dummy</doudou>:""}))) returns ..1. Does it means that the map module uses the function fn:data() to compute keys for nodes ?? Cheers Jean-Marc
