Stored procedures (XRPC) support

I am currently working on a research project on native XML databases and I am trying some stuff on BaseX and I must complement on the nice GUI supplied with the database. After testing some stuff I now have a question: is there support for stored procedures in some sort for BaseX? I would like to query the database using a XQuery which is stores in the database and can be called using some parameters. Thanks. Regards, Harmen Wessels.

GUI client error when adding doc without chopping whitespace

I'm seeing a null pointer exception in the GUI client when adding an XML file to an empty database that uses an internal parser and does NOT chop whitespace. Using the command-line tool to add the same file works fine. Note, I'm running the database in a server (as opposed to standalone). Is this a known issue? Any help would be appreciated. Here's the error I get when I add the file using the GUI client: Error: Possible bug? Hi, static final String DRIVER ="org.basex.api.xqj.BXQDataSource"; Why use the class org.basex.api.xqj.BXQDataSource??? In JDBC driver is associated with a database. Why in XQJ I use a class??? Sorry for my English...i'm Italian.

Hello, I am trying XQuery Full-text on BaseX and I am a bit surprised by the full-text query speed: I have loaded the Shakespeare plays into a BaseX database, and created a full-text index. So far so good. Then I a tried a query like: //LINE[ . contains text "romeo juliet" all words] (4 hits) It takes about 1200 ms. I expected less than 100 ms. For example I tried Qizx and it takes less than 20 ms. Even eXist (old version, with a different syntax) was taking around 200 ms. I tried dropping the full-text index: that makes no difference! So clearly the FT index is not used. What should I do ? Thanks

Hi, I would like to know how to connect to BaseX using XQJ. I'm searching for the connection string (where i can put the login, password, port, etc.) to create a XQDataSource but I'm not finding it. Thansk in advance

Querying the Wikipedia XML dump

Hi, I set up a database in BaseX with the Wikipedia articles dump (all 25 GB of it). I'm able to access individual articles though the treemap display (by clicking on them), but I get null responses for every xpath query run, even really basic stuff like "//title." I'm sorry if this is a very obvious question; I'm a beginner to XML databases. Any ideas as the problem, or what to do to find out more? XQJQuery Example

Hi, I just downloaded BaseX and intend to try running the example code. For XQJQuery.java I am having problem. I get below error. UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file. I am trying to use the BaseX implementation of XQJ API only. I intend to explore the BaseX XML database related features later on.
