Hi, I have quick question... Is it possible to view content saved as XHTML in a BaseX database as HTML 5 in a browser when accessing the content through a domain:port/rest/... address? Hello there, I am not really sure if the following is an issue or just a lack of understanding on my side. I have two documents and try to find elements from one based on (attribute-stored) constraints given in the other. A basic example structure looks as follows: <commands> <create-db name='test1'/> <add path='doc_a'><a><a1 id='1'/><b1 ref='1'/></a></add> <add path='doc_b'><b><b1 ref='1'/></b></add> </commands> Queries: //a1[@id=//a/b1/@ref] => 1 hit //a1[@id=//b/b1/@ref] => no hits? When putting the nodes in one and the same document (adding a common parental node), either query returns 1 hit: <commands> <create-db name='test2'/> <add path='doc'><any><a><a1 id='1'/><b1 ref='1'/></a><b><b1 ref='1'/></b></any></add> </commands> What I would have expected is 1 hit in any of the cases, but finding the correct context in predicate expressions confused me more than one time... Hi all, anyone succeded in using send-request to send data to an HTTPS server? No matter how hard I try (even handling all that Certificate import stuff) I conntinuosly get this error message. Using geo module in BaseX GUI 7.7.2

Hi, when I want to use the geo functions out of the GUI, I get the error " [XPST0017] Function v not implemented." What could be possibly wrong? What I did: 1) enable geo module through Options->Packages->Install... 2) chose etc/modules/geo.xqm 3)In the Editor window, took an example from the Wiki http://docs.basex.org/wiki/Geo_Module import module namespace geo = "http://expath.org/ns/geo"; declare namespace gml='http://www.opengis.net/gml'; let $point := <gml:Point><gml:coordinates>1,2</gml:coordinates></gml:Point> return geo:dimension($point) Is there anything else to consider? As far as jvisualvm says, the jars such as basex-api.jar and jts-1.13.jar are on the classpath. Any ideas? Thanks, Nathan

problem with namespaces in baseX - Namespaces are inserted only once in the database

Hello, While trying to execute a replace query [1], we face the following problem: The new "capabilities" node contains a group of subnodes which have in their definition the same namespace definition (xmlns namespace). The problem is that in the result after the replacement the namespace definition is only in the first node (ows:ServiceIdentification). In the following nodes the majority of the attributes in the namespace definition are missing and as a consequence the xml file is corrupted as the definition of the elements are undefined. An example of a corrupted node where the attributes of the namespace definition are missing is mentioned at [2]. Hello, I am new to BaseX and am doing basic manipulations, but can't delete nodes/elements permanently from a Database. So these are my databases: > list name Resources Size Input Path ---------------------------------------------- Example 1 34928 Experiment_Owner 3 4651 Store 3 14015 TestbyIrfan 0 4541 Users 299 86299 Workon 1 4753 6 database(s) open Users XQUERY / <user> <fullname>null</fullname> <username>user590</username> <password>3b36431be670500f759191b1cc27adc3</password> <experiments/> <email>email</email> <role>ROLE_BEE</role> </user><user> <fullname>null</fullname> <username>user591</username> <password>18b944141c4104d3a577516e7aa429</password> <experiments/> <email>email</email> <role>ROLE_BEE</role> </user> afterwards to delete the users I tried commands such as: XQUERY delete node db:open("Users")//user or XQUERY for $v in /user where $v[contains(username,"user")] return delete node $v/user then the records disappear, the command XQUERY / doesn't show the records of users, however when I do a command list, the size of the database and the number of resources don't change. I tried to do an Export like: EXPORT /root/BEES_CENTRAL/BaseXData/data but no change.... So my question is how can I commit the changes made by Delete to disk permanently ? Thanks a lot. database corruption

I was able to narrow the circumstances of the corruption event to the following. - The corruption occurs when adding a resource to the database - The added resource needs to be big enough (one additional characher or xml node makes the difference) - The database has to be in a certain state at the moment of the resource addition for the corruption to happen: the same resource added at a different time will note cause corruption - The database could leave the 'pre-corruption' state if some activity happens I was able to capture a database in 'pre-corruption' state in a backup, the database has no resources (all removed previously) and the backup is 44Kb I also have an couple of XML files that cause corruption of this database when added both are 2kb. I mostly experience the corruption when using db:add() or db:replace() functions in xqm files but in the example I managed to capture the corruption happens when issuing the add command in CLI as well. I can provide the backup and XML files but I suppose that sending them to the list as attachments would not be welcomed. I performed the same test with the same result on Linux: - restaure the 'pre-corrupted' backup - open the database - add the XML file Finally I performed the same tests with BaseX78-20140203.150949 and no corruption happened. I'm seeking the most stable configuration for my application and therefore I would like to have Your opinion: Should I seek a workaround in BaseX 7.7.2 to avoid corruption or should I go with 7.8 in spite it being in beta stage?
