Hi Christian,
I’m not aware of such an abstraction layer, but I could imagine it may be difficult to provide such a layer which is flexible and fast at the same time, because eXist-db and BaseX work quite differently when it comes to full-text processing. For example, BaseX provides various features [1] that aren’t applicable to eXist-db/Lucene, and I’m pretty sure the same holds vice versa. Next, some query rewritings for BaseX may have no counterpart in eXist-db.
If you want to do simple full-text searches in BaseX, it may be easiest to use the functions from the Full-Text Module [2].
Feel free to ask for more, Christian

Hi list, is anyone aware of an abstraction layer for full text search that allows one to switch between eXist and Base-X without modifying the XQueries to search within full text ?
