Hi Mansi,

Thanks for the nice words on my documentation.
But no, I have not yet looked into AWS S3. I have not had the need to yet. My data are relatively small and can easily be handled by the default EC2 instance.
It seems to me though that compatibility shouldn't be an issue. After all the BaseX DB consists of plain files.
But that's just my laymans opinion.

Paul,

We are looking at scaling BaseX beyond my laptop and current EC2 prototype version. Read thru your excellent documentation for this.
Have you played around with deploying/mounting BaseX DB on S3 instance, to take advantage of HD space ? Is BaseX DB compatible with AWS S3 currently ?

Hi all,

I am happy to announce that part 2 of my BaseX for dummies is ready.
It deals with deploying and configuring BaseX on a virtual Amazon Web Services server.

See http://docs.basex.org/wiki/Getting_Started, or go directly to http://www.swennenhuis.nl/basexfordummies/BaseX_for_dummies_part_2.pdf

Best regards, and happy days!
