A lot of these suggestions would make more sense on a personal device.  I am at work in a corporate network.

 

Is running from the jar a viable alternative?

If I modify the shortcut to point to BaseX.jar, it runs like a champ.

 

I haven’t actually asked a question, but I guess you get the idea.  The issue could be on my end, of course.
