As far as I understand, my first option is to ship BaseX together with its native BSD licensing. This is probably enough for my needs in a first phase, fitting for non critical apps, or POC (proof of concept) for clients.
True; the license gives you all righs to ship BaseX in any free or commercial product, as long as the authors are mentioned in the copyright.
However, I would like to know more about alternative licensing and technical support options. Looking to your clients portfolio, I guess that you provide such alternatives. Do you have a link, or a doc that could give me a first overview of these ?
Just a quick answer: BSD is currently the only license we are offering. Some of our customers take advantage of our technical support when developing commercial systems with BaseX, or they attend trainings (usually 1-3 days) to learn the nuts & bolts of our technology. Due to limited time, documentation on our professional services are quite limited, but we are working on a relaunch of the commercial section (to appear on htttp://basex.io), which may provide some more information.
It may well be that you have some more questions, which are welcome to ask (either directly or on this list). Christian
