Apologies for the late reply.

We haven't yet tested the .war variant of BaseX with Oxygen. So I can't yet comment on its specifics.
However, I've just tried with the standalone BaseX-7.3 (Windows installer distribution) and can't get the current XQJ driver to work with Oxygen (This has previously worked with BaseX-7.0.2).
I've configured an XQJ data source driver in Oxygen with the required jars(xqj-api-1.0.jar, xqj2-0.1.0.jar and basex-xqj-1.2.0.jar), but I keep getting:
 "E [BaseX7.3] Could not initialize class net.xqj.basex.bin.m"
or if I add all the BaseX jars in the data source driver, I eventually get:
 "E [BaseX7.3] javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFacto
ry.newFactory()Ljavax/xml/stream/XMLInputFactory;"


Note that, when validating, Oxygen will responds with an error like this:
 "E [BaseX7.3 Full] XQuery API for Java(XQJ) libraries are not present in file:/C:/Program Files/Oxygen XML Editor 14.1/lib/ directory. Please check the XQuery section from the user manual for instructions."
That's an obsolete and misleading error message. You shouldn't copy any libraries to the Oxygen lib folder (that can cause a lot of problems with conflicting libraries), it should simply work with the XQJ jars configured in the data source driver.

We're still investigating what's going on. We'll let you know as soon as we have results.

Engine name: BaseX
Severity: error
Description: org/codehaus/stax2/XMLInputFactory2

I run again not changing anything and get the error
Engine name: BaseX
Severity: error

Description: Could not initialize class net.xqj.basex.bin.m

Oddly I restart oxygen run again and get the message that:
E [BaseX] XQuery API for Java(XQJ) libraries are not present in file:/opt/Oxygen XML Editor 14/lib/ directory. Please check the XQuery section from the user manual for instructions.

And yet they are there in the folder and listed in the data source as follows
file:/opt/Oxygen%20XML%20Editor%2014/lib/basex-xqj-1.2.3.jar
file:/opt/Oxygen%20XML%20Editor%2014/lib/xqj-api-1.0.jar
file:/opt/Oxygen%20XML%20Editor%2014/lib/xqj2-0.1.0.jar


Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

I suggest downloading the zip file on the xqj.net site and giving Oxygen all of the jars contained within the zip.

The XQDataSource class you will need to use within Oxygen is "net.xqj.basex.BaseXXQDataSource", if you have further problems, please let me know.
