Hi Christian,
I'm getting the error-message[ 1] shown below.
I'm using the GUI of the latest BaseX-snapshot: basex 8.0 beta aaca13a .
I'm not able (yet) to provide you with a small running snippet where this error occurs
but I can provide the piece of code where it starts going wrong:
This piece of code triggers the error:
=======================================
declare function local:sequenceElement.processor
( $sequenceElement as element( )
, $initialMap as map(*)
)
{
fold-left( $sequenceElement/child::*
, $initialMap
, local:element.processor#2
)
} ;
=======================================
If I change it into this piece of code all works fine:
=======================================
declare function local:sequenceElement.processor
( $sequenceElement as element( )
, $initialMap as map(*)
)
{
fold-left( $sequenceElement/child::*
, $initialMap
, function( $currentMap
, $element
)
{
local:element.processor( $currentMap, $element)
}
)
} ;
=======================================
I have a feeling that this is a re-introduced bug, solved a while ago by Leo Woerteler.
I hope this is enough information to solve the issue.
Please let me know if you need more information.
TIA,
Rob Stapper

Hi Rob,
It seems to be yet another new issue related to dynamic functions with the same type of exception, but (presumably) caused by another thing (just too much can happen here). I have opened a new GitHub entry [1].

Hi Rob,
A new snapshot is available [1]. In Leo's fix, only closures will be created at parse time (no function items), and functions will now be compiled even if they are only referenced through a function literal, and if they are part of a group of mutually recursive functions.
Have fun with the new versoin, Christian
