Dear all at BaseX, could you explain how one can know that database format compatibility is broken from a version to another ? Is it in the version numbering, or do you broadcast the information ?
Maybe i dreamed about it, but i cannot find the file module documentation on the website anymore...
There is XML with BaseX, and XML without BaseX...

while the database versions have regularly changed in past versions of BaseX, we don't plan any changes in the medium term. Internally, the current database version is stored in the (I)STORAGE constants:
http://basex.org/code/main/data/DataText

We'll add the link again if the module is completely finished. Indeed, most of it is done (thanks to Rositsa!), and Gabriel Petrovay is currently aligning the EXPath specs with our proposal:
