GESIS is seeking applicants for an open position in Mannheim, Germany as Senior Researcher (with doctoral degree) (salary group 14 TV-L, full time) Preferred start date: April 1, 2014 The deadline for applications is February 3, 2014. The start date for the selected candidate is negotiable. The selected candidate will be the co-project manager of dataset and documentation production for the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES) and work on macro-level and microlevel data for the CSES. The candidate is also expected to conduct research. Non-German-speaking candidates will be expected to acquire proficiency in German over a certain period of time. Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, hiermit möchten wir Sie auf den Call for Papers für eine von Elmar Schlüter und mir veranstalteten Methodentagung Different Methods, Same Results - Chancen und Risiken der Methodenvielfalt in der empirischen Sozialforschung. im März (14.-15.3.14) nächsten Jahres in Kaiserslautern aufmerksam machen. Dabei sollen Beiträge aus den Disziplinen Soziologie/Politologie/Psychologie/Kommunikationswissenschaft und benachbarten Disziplinen diskutiert werden, die mindestens zwei alternative Methoden zur Analyse derselben Fragestellung empirisch anwenden und theoretisch diskutieren.
