2018 German Stata Users Group Meeting ===================================== Invitation and Call for Papers ------------------------------ We would like to announce the 16th German Stata Users Group meeting to be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at: University of Konstanz Universitätsstraße 10 78464 Konstanz All Stata users, from Germany and elsewhere, or those interested in learning about Stata, are invited to attend. Presentations are sought on topics that include the following: o User-written Stata programs o Case studies of research or teaching using Stata o Discussions of data management problems o Reviews of analytic issues o Surveys or critiques of Stata facilities in specific fields, etc. The conference language will be English, due to the international nature of the meeting and the participation of non-German guest speakers. Submission guidelines --------------------- If you are interested in presenting a paper, please submit an abstract by email to one of the scientific organizers (max 200 words). The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2018. Presentations should be 20 minutes or shorter. Registration ------------- Participants are asked to travel at their own expense. Ausschreibung: Professur in Nachhaltiger Gesellschaftsentwicklung

Zum 01.08.2018 ist am Departement Sozialwissenschaften der Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Bern eine Professur in Sozialwissenschaften (Gebiet: Nachhaltige Gesellschaftsentwicklung) (Nachfolge Prof. Dr. Ulf Liebe) zu besetzen. Die Professur kann als Extraordinariat oder als Assistenzprofessur mit Tenure Track besetzt werden. Der Anstellungsgrad beträgt 100%. Die Professur ist mit dem interdisziplinären Zentrum für Nachhaltige Entwicklung und Umwelt (CDE) der Universität Bern affiliiert und nimmt ihre Aufgaben gleichzeitig im Departement Sozialwissenschaften und im CDE wahr. Sie beschäftigt sich mit Aspekten der gesellschaftlichen Transformation in eine nachhaltige Zukunft. Beispielsweise kann sie Fragen zu Konsum und Nachhaltigkeit, der Diffusion effizienter Techniken zur regenerativen Energiegewinnung und -nutzung, der Bewirtschaftung öffentlicher Güter und der Kooperation zwischen involvierten Akteuren, der umweltpolitischen Steuerung zur Erreichung von Nachhaltigkeitszielen oder der Art und Wirkung öffentlicher Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation behandeln. Auch Aspekte der sozialen Dimension von Nachhaltigkeit wie etwa die globale oder regionale Entwicklung von Ungleichheitsstrukturen und Armut können im Fokus stehen. In der Lehre ist die Professur in die disziplinären Studiengänge des Departements Sozialwissenschaften und die interdisziplinären Studienprogramme am CDE eingebunden. Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an Forscherinnen und Forscher aller sozialwissenschaftlichen Disziplinen, insbesondere der Disziplinen des Departements Sozialwissenschaften. Voraussetzung ist ein Doktorat in einem sozialwissenschaftlichen Fach. Für das Extraordinariat sind eine Habilitation oder gleichwertige Leistungen erforderlich. Erwartet werden herausragende und international anerkannte Leistungen in der Forschung, Lehrerfahrung sowie Anschlussfähigkeit an die Forschungsschwerpunkte des Departements Sozialwissenschaften und des CDE. Von Vorteil sind ferner vertiefte sozialwissenschaftliche Methodenkompetenzen, Erfahrung in der Leitung von Forschungsteams und in der inter- und transdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit sowie der Nachweis erfolgreicher Drittmitteleinwerbungen. Die Besoldung erfolgt entsprechend dem Personalrecht des Kantons Bern. Die Dauer der Anstellung für die Assistenzprofessur ist auf fünf Jahre befristet; bei Erfüllung der Qualifikationskriterien erfolgt eine Umwandlung in eine unbefristete ausserordentliche Professur. Die Universität Bern strebt eine Erhöhung des Frauenanteils in akademischen Führungspositionen an und fordert deshalb Wissenschaftlerinnen nachdrücklich auf, sich zu bewerben.
