Master of Arts (M.A.) in Sociology at the University of Mannheim, Germany
The M.A. Sociology degree program at the School of Social Sciences, University of Mannheim offers a two-year research-oriented education in an internationally renowned research university environment. The program builds on the school's strength in empirical-analytical approaches, particularly inquantitative methods and comparative research. The curriculum emphasizes training in empirical analysis that is firmly grounded in both theory and rigorous methods. Substantive areas of concentration include Family, Education & Work, Migration & Integration, Economy & Social Welfare State, and Social Inequality. All classes are taught in English.
The program is divided into seven modules: Sociological Research Fields, Foundations of Sociological Theory, Cross-Sectional Data Analysis, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Research Design, Research Project and the Master Thesis.

Students admitted to the PhD program do not have to pay any tuition fees and will be provided with a scholarship. Fast Track Your Doctoral Degree: Students interested in pursuing a doctoral degree at the CDSS have the opportunity to apply for ,Associate Membership' in the second Master's year. Application is open to all 2nd year M.A. students.
