The Max Planck Research Group “Mechanisms of Normative Change” is a research unit at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn and studies the underlying causal mechanisms of cooperation, conflict and normative change.The group works on the sociology of migration, social media, and hate speech. The research mostly works with quantitative methods allowing causal inference, such as experimental methods, panel data, or unstructured data as well as statistical and formal modeling. It has a strong rooting in analytical sociology. 

We offer several 1-year positions at the earliest possible date: 

Senior Research Fellows
(Post-Doc, 100% TVöD E14)


in the field of experimental sociology or computational social sciences such as natural language processing with a particular focus on the evolution of social norms. The position has no teaching obligations and could also be attractive for an extended research stay or part of a sabbatical.
