Mixed methods research has a long tradition in social science and currently under major resurgence. In this session we would like to stimulate an exchange over epistemological issues
arising from mixed methods research. Do we move ‘beyond paradigms’ with mixed methods research? What are lessons learned from empirical mixed methods research? Beyond design features of mixed methods studies, we would like to reflect upon epistemological implications
of mixed methods research.
We will not consider proposals dealing with mere presentations of mixed methods designs.
