Dear colleagues,
the 4th ISA Forum of Sociology will take place 14th-18th July 2020 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. We invite you to submit papers to our session entitled: "Consequences of Wealth (Inequality)". Submit your abstract here: https://isaconf.confex.com/isaconf/forum2020/webprogrampreliminary/Session14.... Deadline for abstract submission is 30 September 2019.
Session abstract: Over the last decades, individuals have been able to accumulate increasing amounts of wealth. This accumulated wealth, however, is distributed very unequally within societies and has been shown to be related to a broad dimension of socially relevant outcomes. The impact of wealth, moreover, is inter-generational and thus wealth inequality is able to reinforce inequalities in other social outcomes. Our session invites papers on the consequences of wealth (inequality) on such socially relevant outcomes, like skill development, educational performance and decisions, income, occupational position, labor market participation, health, marriage decisions, the timing and number of children, divorce risk, or subjective well-being.
