Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Survey Methodology at the ESS Headquarter in London
We have an excellent opportunity for a postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Centre for Comparative Social Surveys (CCSS) at City University London. Established in 2003, the Centre for Comparative Social Surveys is host to the European Social Survey (ESS). The ESS is the largest academic comparative survey in Europe, covering up to 30 nations. In December 2013 the ESS became a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), with its Headquarters located within the CCSS.
This role will support the CCSS team in publishing research on Survey Methodology in general and especially on methodological research concerning the ESS. Specific duties will include: developing a research agenda, contributing to the methodological research of the team, writing reports and scientific papers, presenting at national and international conferences, and limited teaching assignments where possible for career development purposes.
Person Specification
You will hold or will be near completion of a PHD in Survey Methodology or Sociology or a related field and will have a proven track record of quality published work in Survey Methodology. You will be highly motivated and well-organised with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A deep technical understanding of methodological issues in survey research is essential. The ability to conduct professional data analysis of large scale survey data is required.
