The Chair of Sociology under Prof. Andreas Diekmann researches in the areas of social theory and cooperation systems, environmental and population sociology, and methods of empirical social research is offering as of January 1st, 2014 a
PhD Position - Statistical Methods for the Diagnosis of Data Manipulation and Fraud in Science (60%)
The project focuses on the validation of techniques to detect errors and fraudulent data manipulation in journal publications and on conducting a survey on scientific misconduct.
You should hold an MA or equivalent in social sciences (e.g., Sociology, Economics, Psychology) or Statistics. A good knowledge of research methods and statistics is required.
