Dear colleagues!
We are pleased to inform you that the *call for papers and extended abstracts* and the *registration *for the 5th Conference of the Academy of Sociology are open!
The conference will take place from October 8 to 10, 2025 at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The conference theme is "Societal Challenges - Sociological Answers?" It will engage with the challenges facing today’s societies, be they the result of climate change, health epidemics, armed conflicts, economic upheavals, demographic ageing, human migration, multifaceted social inequalities, political populism, or public disinformation through, among other things, generative artificial intelligence. The conference will have a focus on the problem-solving capacities of sociology and how to transfer evidence-based findings to the public and to policy makers. However, a broad range of topics will be represented in the various sessions.
Please have a look at the attached CfP and feel free to forward it to your colleagues. The *deadline for submission is May 15, 2025*.
The deadline for *registration *is *August 31, 2025*.
