(Sorry, I was not aware that the attachment would not go through! Here is the post from yesterday again with the call pasted below.)
Dear Colleagues,
the 10th RC33 Conference on Social Science Methodology was postponed last year until the 7-10th September 2021. Unfortunately, it is difficult to judge the situation at the moment, so it is still up in the air whether the conference can take place in person, as planned, in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Regardless, I would like to invite those of you planning on attending the conference to submit papers for the awards for Best Paper and Best Paper by a Young Scholar. Please see the attached call for more details.
Thanks and best regards
Henrik Andersen
Re-Opening the Call for Submissions for the First RC33 Awards for Best Paper and Best Paper by a Young Scholar
At the 10th RC33 Conference in Nicosia, Cyprus 2021
With the rescheduling of the 10th RC33 Conference in Cyprus to 7-10 September, 2021, we are also re-opening the call for submissions for the First RC33 Awards for Best Paper and Best Paper by a Young Scholar.
If you have already submitted a paper in 2019/2020, you do not need to do anything; the submissions will carry over to 2021. Please let us know if you would like to withdraw your submission for any reason, or if you would like to update your submission, e.g., by submitting a new paper instead.
For new submissions, the guidelines are as follows.
Stipulations and eligibility
All members of RC33 as of September 2021 are eligible for an award. The Best Paper by a Young Scholar Award is open to RC33 members who
* have not yet completed their PhD/dissertation, or * received their PhD/doctorate after 31 December, 2016.
Notice the stipulations have not changed from the first call. If you met the criteria for being a young scholar in the first round of submissions, you are still eligible.
Papers should be:
* on a social science-related topic (whether substantive, statistical, methodological), * written in English (so that all members of the awards committee are able to critique the submissions), and * published in a peer-reviewed journal no earlier than January 1, 2018.
At least one of the authors (the applicant) must be a member of RC33 as of September 2021.
Submission guidelines
In your submission, please include
* a short abstract, and * a copy of the article for consideration.
For the Best Paper by a Young Scholar Award, please also send a copy of your CV so we can verify your status as a young scholar according to our definition above.
Submissions should be sent to:
Henrik Andersen, RC33 Vice-President for Awards, at mailto:henrik.andersen@soziologie.tu-chemnitz.de henrik.andersen@soziologie.tu-chemnitz.de.
Please clearly state in the subject line of the email whether you wish to be considered for the Best Paper or Best Paper by a Young Scholar Award.
Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2021.
After the deadline, the papers will be reviewed by the Awards Committee. The winners will be contacted leading up to the conference.
We (again) look forward to your submissions!
Take care, kind regards
Henrik Andersen
