Registration now open! Join us at the MIMAP Closing Conference "Irregularly staying Migrants: Empirical Findings and Methodological Advances"
The conference marks the conclusion of our three-year research project MIMAP ("Feasibility study on the im-/mobility of people obliged to leave Germany"). In this project, we explored the im-/mobility trajectories, aspirations, and living situations of rejected asylum seekers. Additionally, we studied the issuance and initial effects of the new residence permit under the Opportunity Residence Act. Also, the project probed the applicability of an app-based respondent-driven sampling (RDS) to survey irregularly staying migrants.
The BAMF Research Centre will host the MIMAP Closing Conference, which will focus on empirical findings and methodological advances in the study of different aspects of the situation of irregularly staying migrants. The conference brings together researchers from various disciplines and methodological backgrounds (qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic, mixed methods) who are empirically engaged with irregularly staying migrants or apply innovative methodological approaches to study explicitly hard-to-reach migrant groups.
