After the success last year we will now for the 2nd time give the
International PhD-student Course in Scientific Diving and Documentation techniques (4ECT) (see attached PDF file) Time: August 17th – 28th, 2015 (arrival on the 16th and departure on the 29th) Place: the Lovén Centre Kristineberg, University of Gothenburg, Fiskebäckskil Deadline for application: May 31st , 2015
The course will give you important tools for using Scientific diving (SD) documentation techniques when illustrating your research and conducting empirical studies in the marine underwater environment. Several of the skills provided during the course are required for the European Scientific Diver (ESD) certification. Therefore documentation from this course can be included when you apply for the ESD certificate

The course is open for 12 participants primarily on PhD student level but master students and Post Docs may also be accepted if there are any places left. There is no registration/course fee, but participants will be responsible for their own travel costs and costs for medical examination according to E.D.T.C. “Fittness to dive standards” (the cost for the medical examination is in many countries provided by the home department/institution/employer). The course is funded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
