Guten Morgen liebe WiWis,

Dear Sir or Madam,
Have you ever wondered how you could improve your personal skills at work? Then this is your chance to contribute to a study on work experiences while using an interesting app.
The research project “Apps and work”…
… is coordinated by the department of work and organizational psychology at Maastricht University. It aims to find out more about the impact of apps (as up-to-date gadgets) on jobholders’ daily experiences, behavior and well-being at work. By sharing your opinion and experiences as an active member of the working population, you would make a valuable contribution to our project.
What is your personal benefit?
For the purpose of our study we will provide you with a 30-day-FREE ACCESS to either a motivating brain training app or a mindfulness meditation app which you would usually have to pay for. Both apps are based on a scientific background and are successfully applied by people in practice. As they only take around 5 to 10 minutes per day they can both be easily integrated into your daily work life.
In addition, we would like to provide you with a summary of the overall study outcomes after completion of the project.
Course of the project:
After receiving your personal login code for the app via e-mail, we will send you the initial online questionnaire (approx. 20 minutes) asking about your attitudes and work situation in general. Following this, you will receive a 5-minute online questionnaire twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) for the next 30 days in order to evaluate the app’s impact on your work experiences.
For the purpose of the study, we will randomly match you to one of three groups. Two groups will immediately start using an app, while the third group may choose between the two apps after the 30-day study period is over.
Additional Information:
Please note that the study will be in English. However, it is not necessary to be a native speaker!
Of course, all of your data will be treated in strictest confidence and saved anonymously, thus safeguarding your identity. Your data will be used for the study purposes only. Of course you can withdraw from participation at any time.
Please forward this e-mail to colleagues and any other person you think could also be interested in our project! Your help will be highly appreciated!
By clicking onto the following link you will be forwarded to 5 short questions in order to find out whether you belong to our target group (jobholders working more than 20 hours per week).
