Cloning the git

I am getting "fatal: reference is not a tree: c136fd9513677fad862a337ea895b5f8be0fafe9 Unable to checkout 'c136fd9513677fad862a337ea895b5f8be0fafe9' in submodule path 'basex'" while trying to clone the project "basex-meta" along with submodules. Any suggestion on how to solve?. Thanks, Seeni

Did REST interface just start enforcing Content-Type?

Howdy -- The following is arguably a bug in my REST bindings rather than the server, but it worked as of the 7.2 release but fails as of the current 7.2.1 snapshot. A request akin to the following: POST /rest HTTP/1.1 Host: 127.0.0.1:8984 Content-Length: 86 Authorization: Basic cmVhZG9ubHk6cmVhZG9ubHk= Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Accept-Encoding: identity, deflate, compress, gzip Accept: */* User-Agent: python-requests/0.10.6 <rest:query xmlns:rest="http://basex.org/rest "><rest:text>1+1</rest:text></rest:query> Yields the following response: HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request Content-Length: 40 Server: Jetty(6.1.26) Unknown option '<REST:QUERY XMLNS:REST'. ...but did not do so previously.

GUI no longer pretty-printing?

Howdy -- I'm accustomed to the GUI providing XML output in easy-to-read, pretty-printed form. I just upgraded to 7.2.1-pre-20120410.144517, and that behavior no longer appears to be the case -- documents (as displayed in the GUI) have no whitespace they weren't originally created with. Is this an intentional change? Is a toggle available?

glob syntax

I'm trying to use the CREATEFILTER directive to: . Include all files WITHOUT an extension . Exclude all files WITH an extension . Exclude the specific file "_cache" (note, it has NO extension) . Do all this for a whole directory tree I notice that CREATEFILTER uses "glob syntax" (http://docs.basex.org/wiki/Commands#Glob_Syntax) Questions: 1. Since this is a java program, does that mean that: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/essential/io/fileOps.html#glob and http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/nio/file/FileSystem.html#getPa thMatcher%28java.lang.String%29 provide the exact full description of "glob syntax" for BaseX? 2. Database opened by another process while using REST interface

Hi All, I am getting "[BASX0020] Database 'db' is opened by another process." whenever I am trying to PUT / Store new record in to the database using the REST. I havn't kept the database open from anyother client. May I know what is the issue here? Thanks.

fn:collection

BaseX's documentation and the following (an excerpt from an email on the mailing list[1]) says this on the fn:collection function: fn:collection() either returns documents of a database or of the specified > location >From this it seems that it can return the documents of a specified location (without ever creating a database), however the following query: collection("<xml-dir>") reports the following error (using both the GUI and the command-line): [FODC0004] File or directory "File or directory "<basex>" not found." not > found. (Using Windows 7) I passed several kind of path to the collection function ("c:/xml-dir", "file:///c:/xml-dir", ...), but none of them works. Also, the actual path of "<basex>" in the error depends on whether I start the GUI (<basex>/BaseX.jar) or the command-line (<basex>/bin/basex.bat); the respective paths in these two cases are "<basex>" and "<basex>/bin". (Issuing something like doc("<xml-dir>/<xml-file>") works.) Is this the expected behavior? If yes, is that means that using BaseX one can only query multiple XML files after creating a database for them? If not, ... is this a bug? (I highly doubt.) (On a side note: something like DataDirect - supposedly - can do[2] would be awesome in BaseX. Was this ever considered to include in BaseX?) My reason for doing a query like this is: I've just tried to ran it and it didn't work, so I'm here. Thanks! Detecting abandoned locks

Howdy -- I have a BaseX database with a pin-* file in its directory, reporting as locked and unavailable. However, OS-level tools such as fuser report that no programs have open file handles for any processes in this directory. What mechanism does BaseX use for detecting abandoned locks? It would be nice to use OS-level advisory locking where available, such that the lock is automatically released whenever the program holding it exits (or otherwise ceases to hold a handle on the file).
